Coupling the latest technology with John
Baldwin's years of experience was an experiment which could have gone
terribly wrong. However, John Baldwin took to this new design media like
the proverbial duck to water and now we can't get him off the
computer.
Following the initial consultation a line detail is
produced showing four profiles. This item is designed to scale.
A metal colour can the be selected to
give a realistic look to the item.
When John Baldwin is happy with the model
images of stones can be added so the customer can see what the finished
piece of jewellery will look like. In this case Amethyst and Pearl.
Once the customer is satisfied with the design a computer
file is produced and emailed to our rapid prototype machine operator. This
machine, often over a period of many hours produces an exact replica in a hard
resin. This model is then used to cast the ring in the required metal (i.e.. 9ct
Gold, 18ct Gold). The stones are set by our workshop staff and hand finished and
polished.
